Your more than likely reading this before looking at my blog.... so therefore i wont keep you too long as i know you are excited...

This was an extremely interesting unit for me. it touched a heartbeat due to the work i have been doing for the last four years. I was studying art and then applied art. which is basically this unit however with specific influences, such as 2d 3d moving image etc. However for the main parts i've had fine art teachers.. who as you can imagine know naff all about the real world. so i've been mainly teaching myself the process.

It was a pleasant surprise that during my previous work i wasn't too far of the real world. when i first heard about the unit and the work we would do i was really excited. then the train hit me we would be using blogs.. i thought ok it will be a challenge and loads of people do it. but i really struggled. i can talk till im blue in the face but when it comes to putting it down i either type nothing or type like a pretentious idiot.. the sort of techniques not to get an amazing blog. so i thought for a bit, bummed around for a bit, then i got creative. The course i feel is all about interaction with other things, people, tech, mediums etc. So the hybrid nature of an " organic " ( theres the pretentious idiot bit) blog really tempted me.. and here is my results.

My progression has really got into motion and id like the chance to re do the project with my knowledge. the presentation of the blog was due to be a flip type book made with flash, however the limitation with the blogger interface didn't allow this. i still think that its a well presented idea.

Our idea had one problem.. excited-ness! we threw so many ideas into the pot i don't even think i mentioned them all, for example i now i forgot to talk about putting in motion sensors to adapt our software due to the footfall we had, so there is living proof that our documentation could have been better. I think i would video or sound record our group meetings. this would stop the loss of information and could involve remote group members.

My presentation was deliberately natural and flexible. my usual style is a clean and clinical approach to documentation books however i felt the need to adapt it to my theme and concept i was trying to create.

Color Choices.

The colour I chose is very important to me. To say its my favorite colour is cheesy and an easy choice. However I think that due to my use of yellow in my work from the last few years and my choices made in fashion and objects I own being predominantly yellow shows that you could say its my “favorite.”

Yellow has very useful attributes for this task, its a warming color that can cheer the viewer. I want people to feel positive about myself and my work as positivity can help people get on side. Yellow has been proven to stimulate mental activity and brain power, this can be drawn from nature as yellow is a sign of danger and fear, therefore makes our brains think. This connotation of fear and danger can help, again, move away from the simple, easy, relaxing nature of the product and create a subconscious balance in the mind. Yellow in real life can instantly be associated to the American taxi cab, this backs up the slightly American feel to the text as this is the widest audience and where I'm looking to attract work. On a white background yellow can melt into the surrounding area and disappear, this can relate to my personality. On the front a very confident person however secretly wanting to melt into the background with others when its the right time.

I also wanted to add a third colour. A neutral tone to compliment the yellow and white. I chose a light grey as i felt this didn't over power the other colours and added a subtle tone to the site.

Aperture Gallery's

I have chosen to use HTML generated by Aperture for mac. i have chosen this for a variety of reasons. First of all i think the gallery is beyond my knowledge of html when i started this site. In retrospect i think that i could in the near future create something similar. However this website shows my skills and abilities. As a Aperture Certified Pro i felt it acceptable to show my skills with aperture and integrate the html from the programme.
